IMPACT MARKETING
Social and Digital Media Intern

GETTING STARTED
I made the decision to graduate early towards the end of the Spring 2019 semester. This meant I had just a few months to find an internship to fulfill my graduation requirements in time. I searched and applied all summer, but to no avail. As the deadline approached, my roommate and best friend Tierra mentioned to me that she was family friends with a man named James, who happened to work in digital media. With help from Tierra's parents, and some good timing, James contacted me about a position that needed to be filled at Impact Marketing. I started at the beginning of September, and I will be transitioning to a full-time employee here after I graduate in December!

WHAT I DO
I have varying responsibilities as an intern at Impact. I sit at the front desk there, which means I help any clients that come in for meetings or to pick up products, I make sure the mail and deliveries are correct and get to where they're supposed to go, and I answer any calls from clients. Now on to the fun stuff. I took over the Paramount Bar Social Media posts during my time at Impact. These bars are Deringer's, VooDoo, and Shag's in Des Moines. I also create blog content for Impact's blog "Insightful Insights." I keep reputation management up to date for several local doctors and nurses, and any other little projects I get thrown at me. My social media and other work is explained more below.
DIGITAL MEDIA
For three bars, I create posts using Photoshop that are posted on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram each week. These images include their specials and/or events going on, and each bar has 3 or 4 posts per week. To the left is a link to some of my work. I package these images on a Word document along with captions and hashtags to include in the post. After approval from the Social Media coordinator both at Impact and at each respective bar, The posts are scheduled in Sendible.

In this gallery I also included images of some other graphics I have created at Impact such as print ads, infographics, and even a flag! I used Illustrator and InDesign for these projects.
